Wild About Inclusion
At WTSWW, we work to bridge together people and wildlife. And like nature conservation, life and it's challenges can't function without accessibility, equality, diversity and inclusion - we believe being that Wild About Inclusion is critical to the future of The Wildlife Trusts.
To us, this means inspiring, empowering and engaging people from all backgrounds, cultures, identities and abilities, to change the natural world for the better. It means creating workspaces where difference is celebrated, everyone can be themselves and flourish, just like nature.
We aim to better understand and address the inequalities experienced by many communities in accessing and connecting with nature. This includes recognising that the conservation sector is one of the least diverse professions in the UK and that access to careers and educational opportunities needs to be significantly improved.
We are excited to announce that we are currently working on our Wildlife Trust EDI strategy. This is part of our ongoing commitment to remove barriers in wildlife conservation in south and west Wales.
WTSWW's Pride Month
Pride Month is a reflective and important time of year for WTSWW’s LGBTQ+ colleagues, supporters, and friends. As an organisation committed to a future in which both people and nature thrive, we are devoted to diversity. Our unwavering and deep-rooted commitment to inclusivity is nurtured every day of the year - from signalling our preferred pronouns in our email signatures, to supporting LGBTQ+ colleagues.
We are very proud of the diversity which exists within our staff and supporters, and we aim to continue to cultivate our inclusive environment. To tackle the biggest challenges our planet faces, we need to include everyone.
