CBMWC Marine Education and Outreach

Our Marine Conservation team based at the Cardigan Bay Marine Wildlife Centre in New Quay, can deliver marine biology workshops and activities to schools and groups of all ages. You can join us in our Discovery Room or members of our team can travel to you. Our sessions will dive into the fascinating marine world, allowing you to experience nature hands on!

Looking for something to do? If you live locally to New Quay or are visiting the area, you can view our range public marine discovery events here.

Children (ages 5-16)

We offer a range of exciting marine education activities and workshops to encourage children to learn about the marine environment and how they can take care of our planet. The sessions can be linked to the National Curriculum for Key Stage 1-4 and will also support key skills such as communication, enquiry and reflecting. The sessions will provide children with the opportunity to spend time outdoors, along the coast.

Adults (16+)

We also provide talks, workshops, and corporate days for adult groups, including colleges and universities. These sessions provide groups with the opportunity to discover the local marine life and environment, delve into our vital marine conservation work and experience nature. We also offer engaging corporate day packages designed to meet your business needs and get your team out of the office and into nature.

Young People (9-24)

Our Living Seas Youth Forum meets once a month via zoom and we also run at least one face to face session per month. Activities can include marine biology workshops, marine surveys (think dolphin watching and rock pooling), debate club, creative/art/writing workshops, beach cleans, running community engagement events etc. The group is youth led so members give feedback and help to develop activities and mini projects.

We’re always looking for new members, so if you’re ready to join our forum, then please contact Laura Evans at cbmwc@welshwildlife.org or call 01545 560224.
