How we are funded

Our finances

Our members and donors provide the majority of the funds we spend. We are grateful to every one of you for supporting local wildlife. Thank you. We are a charity which means every penny raised is spent on delivering our charitable work - nature conservation across South and West Wales. As a charity we do not make a profit like a commercial business. We are registered with the Fundraising Regulator

Our work is supported by a number of funders and organisations, including:

  • Biffa Award have supported direct conservation work on a number of our sites, including Parc Slip and Brynna Woods
  • Natural Resources Wales, through an annual grant, have support some of our very important conservation work in south and west Wales
  • The Wales Cooperative Centre
  • ERDF Funding helped us to improve the visitor experience at the Welsh Wildlife Centre

  • The Waterloo Foundation has supported a number of our projects over the years

  • Players of People’s Postcode Lottery raising funds for our vital conservation work

  • The Cooperative - In Wales, all branches of the Co-op donate the single-use carrier bag charge to Wildlife Trusts Wales so that we can continue our work to protect wildlife for the future. Working in partnership with the Co-op we deliver the Welsh Wildlife Heroes project which encourages people to get more active in their community.

  • The Heritage Lottery Fund has supported the work on Skomer Island which has improved the visitor’s experience.

Corporate support

There are many ways that you can support the important conservation work we do in south and west Wales.  Corporate Membership under our Wildlife Partners scheme is an important element of our support.

There’s something for everyone and we firmly believe that every business in Wales has something to gain from the Wildlife Trusts and something to offer wildlife.  Furthermore, there is a genuine desire by many who work in business and industry to care for our natural environment.

To find out more please contact Jon Cooper, Membership Manager. Email: j.cooper@welshwildlife.org.

With over 100 places to stay across Wales, Sugar & Loaf understands just how much of an attraction the region’s natural landscapes and wildlife are to tourists and locals alike, and by supporting the Wildlife Trust of South West Wales, we hope that they can continue to care for this beautiful part of the world so that it can be enjoyed for many years to come.

HolidayCottages.co.uk

Welcome and thank you to HolidayCottages.co.uk who join us as corporate members, supporting wildlife across south and west Wales.

Memberships ensures a stable income which protects our special wildlife. Without this kind of funding it would be difficult to protect the 110 natures reserves we own and manage, or work with people to protect precious wildlife in Wales.

Holidaycottages.co.uk are delighted to be able to support the work of the Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales by becoming a corporate partner.

It is extremely important to preserve natural landscapes like this across the UK and with over 50 cottages in Wales, holidaycottages.co.uk feel it is important to work with the Wildlife Trust of South West Wales to do this.

The Welsh environment is not only a rich habitat for a vast range of fascinating species, but its natural beauty has a massive impact on tourism. Without the means to maintain a location of this value, the appeal to visitors would be lost.

Holidaycottages.co.uk are proud to be a supporter and to be able to help the Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales to continue caring for this beautiful part of the world.

Sykes Cottages

Sykes Holiday Cottages value the natural landscape of the UK and is proud to be working with the Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales to protect and preserve this part of Wales for the future.

With more than 1,400 self-catering holiday cottages in south and west Wales, Sykes are keen to support the work of the Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales. In partnership with the cottage owners, Sykes are already working to care for the natural environment. By becoming a corporate partner of the Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales, Sykes is proud to continue this work.

Sykes know that one of the primary reasons so many tourists flock to this part of Wales throughout the year is the beauty of the natural landscape. Any failure to preserve the landscape and the habitat of rare plants and animals will dramatically impact upon the natural beauty of the area and its appeal to tourists.

As such, Sykes Holiday Cottages are committed to supporting the preservation of the some of the most precious areas of the Welsh landscape through its corporate membership with the Trust.
