For several years, John Ibbotson has raised money for a variety of charities by making and selling calendars featuring his photography. In 2021 and 2022, John featured wildlife from his garden to produce a wildlife calendar, to which he donated profits to the Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales.
“At the start of the first lockdown, I posted a photo a day on my Facebook page of wildlife taken in my garden and, when allowed, on my local walks. These proved very popular throughout the various lockdowns and as a result, I produced wildlife calendars for 2021 and 2022.
I have raised over £2000 for charity each year, with profit shared between the Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales, a foodbank in Aberystwyth and Mind Aberystwyth.
These charities were chosen to highlight the joy that engaging with wildlife has given to so many of us during the pandemic and the mental health benefits seeing and being in nature provides.”
