About the event
Come with us on a seashore adventure with two expert marine biologists to discover the wonders hidden in those Mumbles low-tide rock pools and under the seaweed-covered boulders!
There may be crabs, starfish, anemones, sea sponges - even very beautiful sea slugs like the one pictured above! There's also the chance of finding a creature so far unrecorded in this area - like the Nut Crab found during a previous seashore safari. (Pic below)
Matt and Winter share a passion for marine life, science, ecology and education and set up Marine Matters together to educate and inspire people about the amazing variety of sealife locally. More info at www.marinematters.net
This event is suitable for families. All children should be accompanied by an adult.
Waterproof, grippy footwear is recommended as wet rocks and pebbles are slippery and please dress according to the weather forecast for the day.
Bring white or see-through trays and hand lenses if you want to have a close look at your "finds." Please be aware that all creatures found will be carefully returned to the location where they were found.
Parking is available at Knab Rock car park, near the Pier or in the Big Apple car park above (steps down to Pier). The Limeslade 2B bus drops off nearby.
Please book via our Eventbrite page and cancel your booking if you can't make it to free up a place for others.
This event is kindly supported by Marine Matters. There will be a charge of at least £1 per adult to help cover WTSWW Swansea group costs.
Please note that this event is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues.
