These beautiful waymarkers have been crafted using oak by the artist Ami Marsden, and each depicts a different species that’s important to the site. Each also has a QR code attached. The QR code should take you to a map on your phone, and tell you where you are on the map, hopefully aiding orientation around the reserve. Also on the link there is a little information about the species depicted on the sculpture.
These sculptures aim to encourage people to explore the site further, whilst also informally gaining greater understanding of the species that can be found there. Species that can be identified on the sculptures are herb paris, dormouse, common carder bee, ringlet butterfly, red kite, greater horseshoe bat, whorled caraway and slow worm.
Can you find all 8 sculptures?
