About the event
Once the site of a coal mine Ystradfawr Nature Reserve has been reclaimed by nature.
The area has been managed as a nature reserve since 2010 and has a fantastic variety of species, some quite rare.
Staff from The wildlife Trust of South and West Wales will guide you around the reserve and help you find some of the special species. You will learn about what we have to do to help these species survive. You may see our helpful lawnmowers (cattle & ponies) and have a go at geocaching.
Meet by the metal gate in the corner of Ysgol Golwg Y Cwm car park, a little before 11 am if you can.
Wear clothing suitable for the forecast and sunscreen. Also bring food and drink for lunchtime.

While dogs are allowed on the paths through the reserves this activity is not suitable to have dogs around while people trying to find species.
