A Birdsong, Moths and Pond-dipping Walk
Event details
About the event
Our Swansea group Chair, conservationist, wildlife photographer and author Hugh Lansdown will lead this walk around the beautiful Crwys Community Woodland.
There are very good surfaced paths which are accessible for families with children in buggies and people with reduced mobility and wheelchair-users.
Hugh will set up a moth trap the night before so that, with a bit of luck, people will be able to get a close look at some of the night visitors to the site.
He will take people around the woodland, listening out for the birdsong and look at the results of pond-dipping in the lake and the creatures that emerge!
Please meet at the Community Woodland car park at 9:00am and dress suitably according to the weather forecast for the day.
You can find out more about the community woodland, including directions, on their website here: https://crwyscommunitywoodland.weebly.com/
Bring your own refreshments if you need them. There are picnic tables on site.
This event is rescheduled from last year which was fully booked so please book on Eventbrite and, nearer the time, if you can't make it, please remember to cancel your place so that it can go to someone else.
We request a minimum payment of £1 per adult. Children are free of charge. All children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.
Accessible toilets and disabled parking are available at the site. Other parking is available on roadside nearby. Dogs should be on leads please. Guide dogs welcome.
